Afternoon teas were set amongst the historical collection of spectacular objects created by some of Birmingham’s most celebrated Silversmiths as part of Birmingham Heritage Week.
The sudden death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been a shock to all of us. On the day of her death, along with the other Assay Offices, we determined that the additional celebratory jubilee mark should be withdrawn as a mark of respect coincident with the commencement of a period of national mourning.
The Chair of the Birmingham Assay Office, Carol Brady MBE, has announced she will step down from the role in October 2022. Carol will be succeeded by Russell Jeans in October as the designated Chair following the interim meeting.
Following the very sad news of the passing of our long-reigning monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. As a mark of respect, the Platinum Jubilee commemorative mark will now be withdrawn from use by the four Assay Offices of the United Kingdom.
