Vikki met up with a wide range of exhibitors and discussed topics including the testing of Nickel, Lead and Cadmium as well as issues surrounding metal and plastic components/embellishments used on garments and head and body jewellery that is so on trend for the coming seasons.

Assay Office Birmingham and AnchorCert Analytical recently marked a significant moment in its long-standing history with the move to a BRAND NEW purpose built building on Moreton Street in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

AnchorCert Academy, a division of Assay Office Birmingham offers one-day training courses such as Understanding Product Safety for Fashion Accessories. This course will tell you what you need to know about relevant aspects of REACH and the CPSIA. The course focuses on Nickel, Lead and Cadmium, including why each metal is harmful and current testing regulations. It explains the approach to testing and also includes information on legislation applicable to safety testing for leathers and textiles. The course provides six hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity.
