Hallmark Salon exhibition opened at Somerset House yesterday for a five day run. Assay Office Birmingham was pleased to attend a buzzing  Private View and meet with some of the very talented jewellers and silversmiths showing there.

Products range from luxurious classics, beautiful statement jewellery pieces to contemporary silver with some funky designs in between. Prices are from £60 to £16,000. Some of the enamelled pieces on show are  absolute works of art and it was great to be able to talk to the craftsmen themselves to really appreciate the level of meticulous patient work that had gone into  creating them. The range of skill and creativity on display was impressive and the exhibitors enthusiastic and friendly. A very encouraging reminder of how good it is to be part of our UK jewellery industry.
