A sparkling start to a Monday morning at Assay Office Birmingham!
Sally Hoban, Heritage & Training Officer started today's General Public silver visit by presenting Anne East with a bottle of Champagne. Â Anne visited Assay Office Birmingham's stand at the recent Antiques for Everyone Exhibition at the NEC Birmingham and entered our competition to win a bottle of champagne - (Veuve Clicquot - the one with the Anchor on!!.) Â She also took the opportunity to obtain a place on our additional June Silver Visit at the Assay Office for members of the general public. Â When her name was drawn from the hundreds of competition entries, Anne was thrilled and was more than delighted to receive her prize today before the visit started.
Another public Silver Visit will take place this afternoon.  The next available dates to book a place on a Public Silver Visit are: Thursday 21st August, Thursday 23rd October and Thursday 4th December.  Places are £15.00 each.  This includes a talk on the history of the Office and the jewellery quarter, a tour of the private silver collection and library, as well as a chance to visit the gift shop.  Refreshments included.
