The official brief for the design is: This traditional geometric carpet bedding display celebrates the riches of Birminghamâs historic Jewellery Quarter. The 3D quadripartite design incorporates many aspects of this globally significant area of Birmingham: Europeâs largest concentration of businesses involved in the jewellery trade is located here and the Assay Office founded here in 1773 hallmarks millions of items per year. The internationally recognised anchor mark is the focal point, representing Birmingham rising centrally from jewellery and precious metals depicted with colourful and textural carpet bedding. Lettering details represent a traditional hallmarking stamp whilst the landmark Chamberlain Clock is also featured.BEAUTIFUL BORDERS APPLICATION
