Assay Office Birmingham is a hive of activity this morning as final preparations are under way for outgoing CE & Assay Master Michael Allchin's last presentation to the Guardians and Wardens at today's Interim AGM.

After attending to the morning's business, Michael began a final run through of the meeting presentation

Following the Interim AGM the Assay Office will be presenting Michael with retirement gifts and in the early evening Michael will be toasting his time with the Assay Office and his long illustrious career in this wonderful industry with drinks in St Paul's Square with many customers, suppliers and notable figures from the Trade.

The 12th Assay Master will be departing shortly and the 13th Assay Master will then be taking the helm. (Any resemble to a Dr Who Regeneration is "purely coincidental"!)
