It's hard to believe that it's been well over a week since the Jewellery & Watch Show and Spring Fair International  2014 came to a close.

It was a fantastic show for Assay Office Birmingham, AnchorCert Gem Lab, SafeGuard Jewellery Valuations and our Analytical Lab.  We had a lot of interest in our ever expanding range of hallmarking and independent, professional, quality assurance and product safety services for the jewellery and accessories industries.  We were delighted to meet up with so many of our customers and have time to talk about what is in store for 2014.  We also came away with lots of new enquiries.

It must be said that many of the new collections on show were creative, original, fashionable and fun.  It is a good time to be a British Brand.

The sales & marketing team have some some very exciting enquiries to work on and have already seen items coming in only days after the show.

The 2014 one day training course programmes from our Training Division have had a lot of interest which is encouraging to see for the industry as a whole and not just for Assay Office Birmingham business.  Broadening knowledge and skills will help increase staff confidence allowing them to up sell as well as sell more -  a win win for everyone...

The 2014 Show also highlighted the importance of Independent Jewellery Valuations as a key offering for all retailers with a Jewellery, Watch & Silverware range.  More and more Insurance Companies are stipulating that their clients obtain an independent valuation for their jewellery items to make sure that they are adequately covered.  Therefore it is important that Retailers rise to this consumer lead demand and capitalise on it by offering a timely and precise valuation service.  This is where SafeGuard Independent Jewellery Valuation Service - a division of Assay Office Birmingham - has come into its own and has been able to support Retailers by providing an important, profitable and growing professional service.

The AnchorCert Gem Lab had its best show ever and has seen an increasing uptake and interest in its Diamond and Gemstone Laser Inscription service.

We demonstrated the new Help with Hallmarks APP to a very enthusiastic audience and helped countless visitors to download it onto their phones.   The APP is proving to be a really innovative, practical and easy to use way to check the date of a piece of jewellery or silverware.
