Birmingham Assay Office were joined by a group of French jewellery business owners and enthusiasts all the way from Lyon this morning. After visiting Perry Beeches II the group travelled just across the road to enjoy a brief overview of the Assay Office Birmingham from Chief Executive and Assay Master, Michael Allchin before being taken on a tour of the hallmarking floor by Kathy MacMillen, Hallmarking Operations Manager.

After having a go at hallmarking the group took a tour of SafeGuard, the Jewellery  & Watch Valuation Service hosted by Director, Carla Goodfellow. AnchorCert Gem Lab Senior Gemmologist, Anu Manchanda then spared sometime to talk to the visitors about the work carried out by the AnchorCert Gem Lab. They were amazed at the expertise and extensive equipment the Assay Office posesses.

Our visitors from Lyon had a very tight schedule and were off to a local restaurant for lunch after their visit to the Assay Office but we hope to see them again when they visit the Jewellery & Watch Show at the NEC next week. A team from the Assay Office will be  exhibiting in Hall 17, Stand P60 so do come along and see us!
