Fresh from the success of its recent Hatton Garden seminar, the BJA will holding a meeting at the Birmingham School of Jewellery on February 11
th to discuss the need and desire for the jewellery industry to adopt workable and sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies
The BJA has long championed the need for the industry to adopt such an approach and wishes to explore the appetite the jewellery industry has for adopting CSR strategies
It will also be reporting on the results of a survey recently carried out in Birminghamâs Jewellery Quarter.
âThe benefits of adopting CSR at any level are hugely beneficialâ said Simon Rainer, BJA CEO
âWhat we need to communicate and discuss further is how companies who may already be adopting some elements of CSR are able to extend their commitment even further and reap even greater benefits. This is really a key component to helping the BJA membership grow their businessesâ he added
Whilst the meeting is essentially one of encouraging audience feedback, the BJA has assembled a selection of industry stalwarts to make concise presentations on their involvement with CSR and how it has had a positive impact upon their businesses.
Including:
Michael Allchin: Birmingham Assay Office
Professor Marylyn Carrigan, Coventry University Centre for Trust and Ethical Behaviour
