Â
Thanks to the British Jewellersâ Association and Chris Smith of the National Measurement Office for an informative Seminar on interpretation of the RoHS II directive.Â
RoHS II is concerned with the environmental impact of all goods containing batteries, and other electronic goods. When they are finally disposed of potentially toxic elements can leach back into the earth and cause long term damage and pollution. Technical Director Dippal Manchanda and staff from the Laboratory also attended the seminar.Â

Toxic elements such as lead, cadmium and mercury, amongst others are tightly restricted. This legislation is now enforceable and companies who place goods on the market will potentially be criminalised if they do not properly comply with the legislation. The Laboratory offer all necessary tests to ensure compliance.
