The SafeGuard team are looking forward to the National Association of Goldsmiths’ Institute of Registered Valuers’ (IRV) Conference in Loughborough in September. This well established gathering always provides a lively exchange of views, news and expertise, attracting over 150 delegates on a regular basis. The IRV has undergone significant changes in the past few years, raising the bar to ensure those who belong to the Institute are fully competent. The Annual Conference is an important part of the programme of continuous professional development which valuers are now required to undertake to maintain their qualification. Valuing is becoming an increasingly complicated exercise as counterfeits, treated gemstones and synthetics increase and insurance companies become increasingly demanding.
