Friends, colleagues and family gathered to pay an affectionate farewell tribute to former Assay Master Bernard Ward OBE.  [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="448"] Family and friends with Bernard’s portrait in Reception at The Assay Office. Left to right: Roger Burman, Daniel Drazen, Paul Berwin, Valerie Berwin, Sophie Drazen, Margaret Ward, John Knowles and John Bettinson.[/caption] The memorial service, held in St Paul’s Church in the Jewellery Quarter on 9th July drew people together from around the country to celebrate Bernard’s life. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="448"] Some of the guests included: Phyllis Benedikz, Ross Bellamy, Kathy McMillen and Dave and Sandra Logan.[/caption] Past and present employees of The Assay Office were joined by many from the industry who were all pleased to meet Bernard’s family and share happy memories of his many activities and the huge contribution he made both in his working and personal life. Eulogies were delivered by Former Assay Office Chairman John Bettinson and Bernard’s daughter Valerie.
