The jewellery trade faces many challenges. Not least among these is the need to train a new generation of highly skilled workers.
How the requisite training can be delivered has been the subject of extensive discussions over a long period. However the hard work has finally born fruit. A training scheme has now been created.
Employers have been working with the School of Jewellery and Birmingham City Council to tailor a scheme that meets the specific requirements of the local industry.
The next step is to start signing up employers. And then to start signing up students.
Jewellery manufacturers in the Birmingham area are invited  to a meeting at the School of Jewellery on Vittoria Street on
Wednesday 5th December at 8:30 am to hear more about the scheme.
