CHRISTMAS OPENING TIMES AND DEADLINES The Birmingham Assay office want to ensure your receive the service you require in this crucial trading period. The Birmingham Assay Office, AnchorCert Gemmological Office and Safeguard Jewellery & Silverware Valuation Service will therefore be working until 1.00pm on Monday 24^th December.  The Laboratory at The Birmingham Assay Office will be working until 12 Noon on Fridsay 21st December.  The Birmingham Assay Office will reopen after the Christmas Break on Wednesday 2^nd January 2013.

• The hallmarking division will be open until 1.00pm on Monday 24th December and will re-open on Wednesday 2nd January 2013. Hallmarking parcels received over the trade counter before 10.00am on Wednesday 19th December will be processed and ready for customer collection by Monday 24th December up until 1.00pm.
• Hallmarking parcels received by post or securicor up to Monday 17th December will be processed and despatched by Thursday 20th December.

Last dates for the special 24 hour express service are:

• Postal parcels received on Wednesday 19th December – will be despatched on Thursday 20th December, for delivery to you on Friday 21st December.
• Trade counter parcels received by 9.30am on Thursday 20th December will be ready by 9.30am Friday 21st December.

The Laboratory wants to ensure we give you the service you require during the crucial Christmas trading period.

• The Laboratory will be working until 12 Noon on Friday 21st December. The Laboratory will reopen after the Christmas break on Wednesday 2nd January 2013:

THE LABORATORY WILL ACCEPT SAMPLES UNTIL 12 NOON ON FRIDAY 21ST DECEMBER. To receive test results before Christmas i.e Friday 21st December, samples must be submitted by the following deadlines: Samples for Nickel release testing to BS EN 1811 that are received after 10.00am on Tuesday 11th December and before 10.00am on Wednesday 19th December will be reported by Monday 7th January 2013. • SafeGuard will be open until 1.00pm on Monday 24th December and will reopen on Wednesday 2nd January 2013.
• The last date for sending in items to be valued and for the Valuation documents to be despatched before Christmas is Monday 10th December.

• AnchorCert will be open until 1.00pm on Monday 24th December and will reopen on Wednesday 2nd January 2013.
• Diamonds and gemstones received by AnchorCert by Monday 17th December will be completed by Thursday 20th December - with the exception of Coloured Gemstones and Diamonds.
• The last date for the AnchorCert Next Day Service will be Wednesday 19th December for postal items and Thursday 20th for items to be collected.
• The latest deadline for the AnchorCert Same Day Service will be 9.30am on Thursday 20th December for postal items and for items to be collected.
