AnchorCert are established supporters of the Scottish Gemmological Conference and this year Penny Parkes and Anu Manchanda headed north to Perth to participate and meet up with friends old and new. The event takes place over May bank Holiday, offering delegates three intensive and absorbing days covering a wide range of subjects presented by an array of lecturers, - Professor Henry Hanni, Dr Ulrich Henn, and Professor Godfrey Witton to name but a few. Social activities take place every evening, including the compulsory Ceilidh on the Saturday evening. The conference attracts international speakers from around the world and this yearâs impressive subjects ranged from topics as diverse as Suffragette Jewellery, Natural Pearls, and the treatment of Opals to buying gemstones as an investment. The event goes from strength to strength and to quote the Scottish Gemmological Associationâs website âThe Conference was a great success and arguably, the best yet. We say this every year though'.âAnchorCert are already looking forward to 2013 and would recommend anyone with a passion for gemstones must not miss this event.
