The growing demand for the application by laser of corporate logos, personalised messages and sequential numbers requires skill and expertise and both are in plentiful supply in the laser marking department at The Birmingham Assay Office.

The combined knowledge of this important team is enabling the Office to offer a reliable and efficient laser marking service to its customers.  Suki Singh, pictured here, is an important player in the team having 10 years experience hallmarking at The Birmingham Assay Office. But it’s his real passion for laser relief marking and graphic design generally that has enabled Suki to develop his skills. For eight years, he had the privilege of working alongside Ron Hodgetts, who retired from the Office in2011 after 50 years service(!), and much of Ron’s knowledge and expertise was handed to Suki. Suki’s interest in photography and Photoshop has also contributed to developing his appetite for laser graphics. Suki is currently the Training Officer in the Laser Room, supporting and mentoring both new and existing members of staff.   He is a keen photographer and in his own time has achieved a City & Guilds qualification with Distinction in Digital photography.
