The Birmingham Jewellery Quarter: Past, Present and Future features a range of speakers talking about all aspects of the history of the Jewellery Quarter and the Quarter today, from the history of the Assay Office to the sounds of the Quarter through its music history. You will also get the chance to hear about contemporary silversmithing and crafts and hear about how the Jewellery Quarter will be represented in a new exhibition at Birmingham's Thinktank. Speakers include Jez Collins, who works at Birmingham City University and created the Birmingham Popular Music Archive (http://birminghammusicarchive.com); Sally Hoban, who is Heritage and Training Officer at The Birmingham Assay Office; Jack Kirby, who is Collections Interpretation Manager at Thinktank, Birmingham; Steven Millington, a silversmith from L.J. Millington and Dr Connie Wan who works at the Royal Birmingham Society of Arts (RBSA).
