Michael Allchin, Chief Executive and Assay Master at The Birmingham Assay Office gave a wonderful keynote presentation at the Annual General Meeting of the British Allied Trades Federation which took place at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham.

Michael enchanted his audience as he reflected on the 125 year history of one of the founding trade associations that make up the BATF - The British Jewellers' Association, which started life as the Birmingham Jewellers and Silversmiths Association.
