British Silver Week has blossomed into the Festival of Silver and is once again holding its Press Launch at the Pangolin Fine Art Gallery in London in May. The Birmingham Assay Office are pleased to sponsor the participation of five silversmiths who have recently qualified from the Birmingham School Of Jewellery.  Left to right - Simon Pattison, Jemma Daniels, Drew Markou Christopher Hay, Drew Markou, Jemma Daniels, Ryan McClean and Simon Pattison will all have the opportunity to exhibit work at the Press Day at the Pangolin Gallery on14th May 2012 and then to show at an exhibition to be delivered by Cookson Precious Metals at their showroom in Vittoria Street, Birmingham. The exhibition will run from 18th to 22nd June 2012 with a Private View on Monday 18th. This event will be supported by The Birmingham Assay Office who are also running two special British Silver Week “public” silver visits to the private Silver Collection at The Assay Office to coincide with the exhibition. The Silver Collection chronicles 240 years of silver-smithing in Birmingham, through Boulton and Fothergill pieces from the 1770’s to the latest contemporary pieces commissioned in the last decade. Guests to the special Silver Visits on 20th June will be guided up to the exhibition after their visit. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Silver rose bowl by Jemma Daniels"][/caption]  Their walk, via one of the Jewellery Quarter’s most traditional industrial streets, will take them from the historic Victorian splendour of The Assay Office building to an exhibition of contemporary silver by five very talented Silverware designer makers.
