Cheryl Owen, a member of the Hallmarking Team at The Birmingham Assay Office has recently achieved her FGA status - as a graduate of the Gemmology Diploma from the Gemmological Association on Great Britain. This is in addition to the DGA (Diploma in Diamond Grading) qualification that Cheryl achieved in 2009.
All the staff at The Birmingham Assay Office as well as Cheryl's friends are extremely proud of her and it is no mean feat to study to such an intense and high level whilst undertaking a very demanding, full time job.
Cheryl is an important member of the Birmingham Hallmarking Department as well as being an experienced diamond laser inscription technician. She is a truly versatile and valuable member of The Birmingham Assay Office staff and a devotee of the jewellery industry, even making her own jewellery pieces.
Cheryl studied for both her DGA and FGA qualifications at The Birmingham School of Jewellery and will attend the Gemmological Association of Great Britain's official awards ceremony at Goldsmiths Hall, London this coming November.
Once again, many congratulations Cheryl...
