British Academy of Jewellery Final Show 2022

The British Academy of Jewellery has announced the names of the students who won awards at its Birmingham campus’ Final Show 2022 opening night. Hosted at the Birmingham Assay Office, the Final Show launched with an array of jewellery produced by some of BAJ’s most talented jewellery diploma students over the past year. The awards ceremony featured a total of six awards and nine prizes ranging from hallmarking registration to work experience to tools, stones and vouchers.

The event highlighted the vibrant jewellery industry based in and around the Birmingham Assay Office. The exhibition is now open to the public until August 9 2022, offering visitors an opportunity to see the level of work students at BAJ produce and get inspired for their own projects. Free tickets for the exhibition are available to book on Eventbrite.

Along with the BAJ Final Show , The Birmingham Assay Office Foyer has been used to host a number of other events and exhibitions, it’s 1234sq ft space is perfect for networking events, drinks receptions or social gatherings. Award Winners:

The Andra Mandala Award, judged by Gary Calidcote, was won by students Eman Bhatti and Catherine Meades. Judges Melvyn Moore and Gary Hindley chose student Jordan Moss to win the Signet Technical Excellence Award for excelling in manufacturing. 

The Weston Beamour Excellence in Design Award, judged by Andrew Morton and Kerry Saunders, was won by Kate Bell with Omaree Raynolds as runner up. BAJ’s Most Improved Student Award, chosen from Tutors’ recommendations, was awarded to Lauren Smith.

Jewellery brand The Snooty Fox’s David Thomas presented the Rising Star Award to Jordan Moss. Finally, Cooksongold’s Stuart Wibberly and Sian Brown presented the Creative Excellence Award to Lesley Quinn with Jordan Moss as runner up.
