The Birmingham Assay Office set to host its first careers event for apprentices, students, hobbyists, and graduates of the jewellery trade
In March, the Goldsmiths Craft and Design Council Exhibition will be making its way to the Birmingham Assay Office. The event encourages and promotes the pursuit of excellence in craftsmanship and design. It will showcase this year's winners, as well as past Birmingham based winners.
To tie in with the exhibition, the Birmingham Assay Office will be hosting a careers event for apprentices, students, hobbyists, and graduates of the jewellery trade. The free careers event will take place on Thursday 24th March, between 10-2 pm, and will feature inspiring talks from trade figures together with an array of exhibitors such as Hockley Mint, Weston Beamor, TH March, Betts Metals, National Association of Jewellers, Birmingham City University and the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths. All there to offer free advice and guidance.
Doug Henry, CEO and Assay Master, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone new to the jewellery trade to network with industry professionals and obtain career advice and guidance. Not only that, to view a selection of this year’s winners from the Goldsmith Craft and Design Council competition, which showcases the skills of British jewellery, goldsmithing and silversmithing. The event promises to be an inspirational day for the trade.”
