EXPERT ANALYSIS ACROSS A RANGE OF SECTORS

AnchorCert Academy, a division of the AnchorCert Group situated in the Birmingham Assay Office, have announced the launch of their latest in-house training course focusing on preparing businesses for the implementation of the new stringent requirements of ISO IEC 17025:2017.

Presented by Dippal Manchanda, the one-day intensive course is being held at the Birmingham Assay Office on Wednesday 4th September 2019, and has been developed specifically to provide support to test houses in developing an accurate Uncertainty Measurement method, a new requirement for the updated specifications of ISO IEC 17025:2017.

The new standard is applicable to every organisation that is performing laboratory activities, regardless of the size of the business, and specifies the general requirements for the impartiality, competence, and consistent operation of every laboratory.

Laboratories that are already accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 have three years from the publication date to complete the transition of their processes to the new standard.

Under the new standard any test which confirms that an item complies with a specific level of conformity will have to be supported by two pieces of information. The first is the decision rule, which details how the measurement of uncertainty is taken into consideration when determining the conformity to a specific standard. The customer should be aware of and agree to this. The second is documentation detailing the data and processes used to calculate the measurement of uncertainty for that specific method. Without these two pieces of information, under the new requirements of ISO 17025:2017, continued accreditation from National Standards Boards such as UKAS and ILAC will be very unlikely. If accreditation is withdrawn, business could be lost.

AnchorCert Academy’s latest course seeks to help businesses avoid any problems around decision rules in the implementation of ISO IEC 17025:2017 by providing guidance from leading expert Dippal Manchanda.  The course may be booked online at AnchorCertAcademy.com
