The Heritage Lottery Fund grant enabled Assay Office Birmingham to transfer its paper records onto an electronic catalogue and photograph its wonderful silver collection, thus allowing members of the public an opportunity to view and search through the Library catalogue online. Silverware, coins and Assay Office Birmingham's library collection are all now available on the website.

The Oral History Archive provides an insight into the part the Assay Office has played in the Jewellery Quarter and how hallmarking remains vital to the assurance of quality that has characterised the Birmingham jewellery and metal trades for many years.
