Assay Office Birmingham is delighted to announce Brett Whitney as the winner of the Assay Office Birmingham  prize which forms part of the Birmingham School of Jewellery Industry Awards.

Brett has been awarded with a cheque for £150 pounds at the prize giving ceremony which took place on Tuesday 16th June. The awards are held to showcase the work of the students to the industry and to award monetary prizes, sponsored by businesses within the industry, to students in recognition of their achievements.

There was a high quality and standard of work again this year displayed by the students at The School of Jewellery. Brett was chosen among a talented pooI of HND and Design for Industry students. Marie Brennan Business Development Manger commented.  "Brett's work is very individual and certainly meets our criteria of selecting a student whose work is firstly in precious metals and whose collection has commercial potential."

Brett created his collection in sterling silver, using CAD and combining traditional styles with modern aesthetics.
