EXPERT ANALYSIS ACROSS A RANGE OF SECTORS

Assay Office Birmingham Staff along with many others in the Jewellery Quarter gathered in St Pauls Square this morning around 9.30 a.m. to watch the stunning solar eclipse through the trees surrounding St Pauls Churchyard.

We were very privileged to see this natural phenomenon in such auspicious surroundings.

Staff produced an array of kit in which to safely view the eclipse. Curator and Valuer Craig O'Donnell provided a Chelsea Colour filter which allowed several staff to look very, very quickly at the moon moving in front of the sun. No one did this for more than a few seconds.

There was an eerie atmosphere as the sky darkened and 91% of the sun was covered up by the moon.

Take a look at our Eclipse 2015 album on Facebook for more images.
