Whilst the rest of the UK were building bonfires and preparing to let off their fireworks AnchorCert gemmologists Anu Manchanda and Beccy Share, and SafeGuard Valuer Craig O'Donnell, were enjoying sparklers of a different kind. [caption id="attachment_1137" align="alignnone" width="224" caption="Beccy Share & Anu Manchanda"][/caption] The Annual Gem-A Conference held at The Hotel Russell in London was a 4 day gem-fest with a varied programme of events surrounding the key weekend conference day on Sunday 6th November. The was a high profile event with international speakers delivering presentations on a variety of topics from gems and new media to the re-cutting of the ancient Koh-i-Naor. Speakers included Steve Bennett from Gems TV who is also a Guardian of The Birmingham Assay Office. For Anu, the highlight was the privilege of attending the private viewing of the Vault at the National History Museum with Alan Hart as well as the guided tour of the Crown Jewels with David Thomas MVO.
