EXPERT ANALYSIS ACROSS A RANGE OF SECTORS

The Birmingham Assay Office was pleased to support jewellery designer Fei Liu, along with eight selected British jewellery designers, to showcase at the Shin Kong Place department store in Beijing in November last year. The initiative, aimed to promote young British design talent in China, was launched in collaberation with British Jewellery & Giftware International (BJGI), the British Jewellers Association and UK Trade & Investment. As well as demonstrating the brilliance of UK jewellery design to consumers and trade buyers, Fei Liu wanted to showcase the UK's long heritage of jewellery manufacturing and The Birmingham Assay Office. The Assay Office lent a silverware piece, the Warwick Vase, from it's private collection to showcase at the event, and was represented there by Chairman Kay Alexander. During the event, Kay Alexander was interviewed by Harpers Bazaar, who subsequently published a double page spread in which Kay talked about the important work undertaken by The Birmingham Assay Office over the last 238 years in providing vital consumer protection.
