It was a great pleasure to meet staff from one of the UKâs leading jewellery magazines, Retail Jeweller, here at Assay Office Birmingham.
Ruth Faulkner (Editor) and Emily Mills (Account Manager) were both given a guided tour around each division of the organisation, all housed in our magnificent historic building.
They even managed to have a go at punching marks themselves!
Their next stop was a visit to the SafeGuard Jewellery, Watch and Silverware Valuation Division, where they were given an overview into how SafeGuard carries out valuations on customersâ jewellery, watches and silverware items.
They also had a tour of AnchorCert Gem Lab and were fascinated to see the array of white diamonds, coloured diamonds, gemstones of every type and lots of pearls and even jade pieces in for reports and identification.
The journalists were then taken around the Analytical Laboratory by Vikki Bradshaw (Laboratory Sales Manager) and were fascinated to see the wide range of chemical testing carried out here on a daily basis.
