Our independent precious metals assaying service gets the most out of every melt. 

The price of precious metals constantly fluctuates. However, one thing doesn’t change. Precious metals always hold value, so it pays to know what your scrap is really worth. And that’s where we can help.

When you send your precious metal scrap to our independent laboratory, we’ll melt it, test it, then provide you with a bar and certificate for you to sell straight to your refiner. That way, you’ll know the exact PM content of your scrap, before you sell it.

And because we have no vested interest in the value of the items we analyse, we can do all of this for one transparent, fixed price. 

AnchorCert Analytical is one of the UK’s leading precious metals testing and analysis laboratories. Part of the AnchorCert Group, our sister divisions include Assay Office Birmingham – the UK’s largest Assay Office. We were created in 1773 by an Act of Parliament to assay or test precious metal, where we guarantee the fineness or content of gold, silver, platinum and palladium articles with our globally-recognised Anchor.

Since our creation, we have diversified and invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology and equipment like Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) machines, as well as more traditional methodologies like cupellation, to provide the highest accuracy and best possible service to our customers.

Based in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, we accept base and precious metals for analysis within our new, state-of-the-art, purpose-built laboratory over our counter or via the post.
