EXPERT ANALYSIS ACROSS A RANGE OF SECTORS

During February 2013 the internationally acclaimed artist, Tom Hunter, was commissioned to make new work in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District and the Jewellery Quarter. Hunter’s images, where he explores and reveals the unique places and spaces of the two culturally and historically distinct areas, are presented in FINDINGS, two related exhibitions in Church Street Square and St Paul’s Square.

FINDINGS is the fifth in a series of collaboration between the Library of Birmingham, Colmore Business District and Birmingham City University. They are joined for the first time by the new Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District and Metro Imaging.

“Many of the buildings I have photographed are monuments to an industrial past, showing us the fingerprints of working lives and the products that these endeavors created, and from them a way of life and culture. I have made the work in Birmingham using pinhole photography, to illuminate and document this very special place.”
