The Birmingham Assay Office's Marketing Director, Marion Wilson and Marketing Manager, Penny Parkes were delighted to attend a coffee morning at Perry Beeches II school on 22nd March. The Free School has been open for just under a full school year and is based across the road from The Birmingham Assay Office in Newhall Street, Birmingham City Centre. The coffee morning was held with the aim of raising money for the year 12's trip to New York in June.  This will be the first time that a Perry Beeches School has visited America. To this end the school is heavily subsidising the cost of the trip and the remainder of the cost will be made by fundraising and parental contribution. Year 12 have so far raised over £1500 through a variety of events including a valentine's day cake competition, bag packing at local supermarkets, making and selling pancakes and organising an Easter disco for year 7 students.

Today, the students were busy fundraising again, baking and selling cakes for the coffee morning and Marion and Penny were only to happy to help out! Enjoying some fantastic cakes and a hot drink - The Great British Bake off eat your heart out! A raffle was held for a chance to win some fantastic prizes including chocolate, easter eggs and wine and the winner of one of the prizes was....drumroll please.........PENNY PARKES, The Birmingham Assay Office Marketing Manager. Penny was delighted with her prize, a tin of Quality Street.. and The Birmingham Assay Office team are all hoping she will share them around the office!
