ANCHORCERT ANALYTICAL ADVISES ON ASSAYING ACCURACY AT LBMA CONFERENCE 2017

AnchorCert Analytical are pleased to confirm that they will present a detailed talk on ‘Analysis of high purity gold by the Fire Assay method’ at this year’s LBMA Assaying and Refining Conference, to be held at The Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London from 19 to 22 March.

The talk will be led by Chief Assayer and Head of Research and Development, Technical Director Dippal Manchanda MSc CChem CSci FRSC. Dippal has more than 31 years’ experience in assaying and the examination of precious metals and alloys. He is a familiar and favoured face at LBMA conferences, in both the UK and also, following the launch of the group’s newest hallmarking sub-office in the Mumbai SEEPZ, in India, where he has been able to share his knowledge and passion for precision in precious metals analysis.

Commenting on the content of his presentation, Dippal said: “With all of the advances in technology, for gold the fire assay process still remains the reference procedure of choice for the assayer demanding the highest accuracy.

“However, after conducting many training courses on the subject, it has become apparent that there is a need to reiterate and understand the importance of the potential sources of error inherent to the fire assay process, particularly when analysing high purity (999.9 fine) gold.”

Given this need, Dippal has created a two-week training course specifically on fire assaying, which he leads under the Group’s training and education division, AnchorCert Academy. Academy Director, Marion Wilson commented: “Everything that we do here at the AnchorCert group is about innovation and integrity. Our independence also means that we are able to share our expertise without agenda, and our experience has taught us to be commercially keen whether that is through our hallmarking operation (Assay Office Birmingham) or through retail-focused training.

“The Fire Assay course is intense, in-depth and, we’ve been told by delegates, invaluable. It’s one of our newer courses, and just like our new Exposed Diamond and Coloured Gemstones courses, it was developed to satisfy an industry demand. We’re constantly looking for new ways to share our knowledge to the benefit of the trade; training and presentations are just one way we deliver on that objective.”

Dippal will be speaking during Session 2: Assaying at the 7th LBMA Assaying and Refining Conference on Monday 20th March; to find out more or to register, visit https://www.eiseverywhere.com/ehome/202457
