EXPERT ANALYSIS ACROSS A RANGE OF SECTORS

Assay Office Birmingham has announced changes to its senior management team, following its recent move to a new purpose built, state-Ã¢â‚¬Âof-the-art building in the Jewellery Quarter.

The new appointments represent a new era at Assay Office Birmingham, which is placing greater focus on delivering commercial success in order to secure and protect its future, for itself and also for the wider jewellery trade. With its modern, operational space, the new building provides the industry and wider members of the public with access to AOB’s heritage collection of silver, industry training programs and space for conferencing and events.

In order to maximise the opportunities offered at the new headquarters, there have been changes and additions to AOB’s senior management team.

Former sales and marketing director Marion Wilson has moved to the newly created role of Academy Director. In this new role, Wilson will focus on promoting the heritage and history of Assay Office Birmingham, championing and providing industry-Ã¢â‚¬Âspecific training courses and establishing AOB as a premier conferencing and events space.

To continue AOB’s focus on sales, business development and marketing, a new appointment has been made in the shape of Nyasha Pitt, who joins the business as Commercial Director.

Pitt is a seasoned sales and marketing professional, with a diverse career that has taken her from the public sector to personal finance, property development and the licensed pub trade. Most recently, she held the role of Marketing Manager, responsible for the global promotion and PR for automotive brand, The London Taxi Company – the world’s only manufacturer of the iconic London black cab.

Speaking of her new Academy Director role, Marion Wilson said: “Designing a purpose-built Assay Office has given us the scope to create a new facility for the jewellery industry, the local community and Birmingham businesses. It provides opportunities that have been previously lacking in the Jewellery Quarter and I am very proud to drive the development of this new division of Assay Office Birmingham. Our expertise and heritage is a valuable resource for the trade and for the local community, and we look forward to welcoming a diverse range of visitors to use our new services.”

Commercial Director Nyasha Pitt said of her appointment: “This is a fantastic opportunity, which I am already relishing. It helps that the industry is full of dynamic and interesting people -Ã¢â‚¬Â everyone I have met, without exception, has been energetic, welcoming and passionate. “I am really thrilled to be part of the Assay Office Birmingham team; the focus on customer service excellence, quality and innovation here is inspiring and exciting. It’s great to be part of such a dedicated team within an industry so steeped in heritage and history.”
